Goalkeeper Josip Posavec kept Bologna at bay as Palermo banked a precious point in their bid to retain their Serie A status.
Posavec produced a series of saves, including one in stoppage time to deny substitute Franco Brienza a last-gasp winner, to ensure that the visitors had to settle for a goalless draw on a day when Emanuele Giaccherini saw a series of opportunities go begging.
Palermo, who had chances of their own, eased themselves four points clear of the drop zone after the early kick-off, but are now without a win in six attempts, while Bologna remain comfortable in mid-table.
