ES Troyes AC 0 - 1 Lorient: Troyes lose at home to Lorient and slip 18 points from safety in Ligue 1

Troyes remained rooted to the bottom of the Ligue 1 standings on Saturday evening as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Lorient.

The only goal came after just three minutes, Jimmy Cabot pouncing on a mistake in the home defence before crossing for Majeed Waris to slot in from six yards.

Lorient had numerous chances to extend their lead, the best coming on 21 minutes through Waris again but this time his right-footed shot came back off the post.

The home side's misery was complete when they had Fabien Camus sent off for a dangerous tackle on Remi Mulumba a minute from time.

The result left Troyes 18 points from safety, after 17th-placed Reims posted a 4-1 triumph over Bordeaux.
