Stevenage Borough 0 - 2 Exeter City: Jayden Stockley bags brace to boost Exeter's play-off hopes at Stevenage

Exeter City gave their play-off hopes a boost as Jayden Stockley's late double saw the visitors beat Stevenage 2-0 for their first win in five.

The Grecians were second best for much of the game but substitute Stockley headed in on 84 minutes before adding a second in stoppage time.

The hosts dominated the opening exchanges, with the lively Tom Pett shooting at Bobby Olejnik.

Pett then crossed for Ryan Hedges but his shot was blocked by Christian Ribeiro while Luke Wilkinson saw his effort turned around the post on the stroke of half-time by Olejnik.

Stevenage thought they had a penalty seconds after the break when Tom Conlon was brought down in the box, but after consultation with his assistant, referee Dean Whitestone reversed his decision and booked the Stevenage midfielder for simulation.

Stevenage continued to fashion the better chances and Aaron O'Connor forced Olejnik to tip over after 66 minutes.

But a moment of trickery from Alex Nicholls saw the ball floated over for Stockley to finish while a second followed on the counter attack.
