Newport County vs Mansfield Town - Matt Partridge to miss out for Newport
Posted Friday, February 26, 2016 by PA
Newport defender Matt Partridge misses Mansfield's visit to Rodney Parade after suffering a setback in his recovery from an ankle problem.
But Scott Barrow is available after sustaining concussion against Carlisle two weeks ago and Janoi Donacien should shrug off a thigh problem sustained at Exeter last week.
Deane Smalley has returned to Plymouth to have a knee problem assessed, while back-up goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney has headed back to parent club Chelsea and Joe Green will come onto the bench.
Tom Meechan, a prolific goalscorer in non-league football, is in contention to make his Sky Bet Football League debut after signing from St Neots Town last week.
Mansfield manager Adam Murray could give a start to winger Colin Daniel who has rejoined the club on loan from Port Vale until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old scored eight goals in 75 games for the Stags before joining Vale on a free transfer in 2014 and will be looking to feature against Newport.
Right-back Daniel Alfei, who is on loan from Swansea, could retain his place after making his full debut in the 3-2 win over Dagenham last time out.
Adi Yussuf, who came off the bench to score in that game, will be pushing for a start but Krystian Pearce is banned after the club failed with an appeal to get his red card against Daggers overturned.
