Gillingham vs Chesterfield - Skipper Doug Loft adds to Gillingham's injury problems

Captain Doug Loft has added to Gillingham's injury problems ahead of the visit of Chesterfield.
Loft left Boundary Park last weekend on crutches after suffering an impact injury to his leg during the second half of the defeat to Oldham. Subsequent scans have showed no break or fracture but the midfielder will be out for a couple of weeks.
His absence follows the recent knee injuries sustained by defenders Ryan Jackson and John Egan. Both remain out against the Spireites but Gills boss Justin Edinburgh is hopeful full-back Jackson could be fit for the trip to Fleetwood on Tuesday.
Edinburgh has extended Adam Chicksen's loan from Brighton and he is also trying to bring Deji Oshilaja back to Priestfield from Cardiff in time for Saturday's game.
Chesterfield boss Danny Wilson will have to change a winning team after Chris Herd was forced off with a hip problem against Crewe.
Fellow midfielder Gary Liddle is still suspended but Wilson hopes to have Liam O'Neil back in contention for the trip to Kent, pending the all-clear from the doctor, after a neck injury.
Strikers Rai Simons and Jordan Slew are pushing for starting places after impressing for the reserves this week, with recent signing Slew scoring four times in the 7-0 thrashing of Gateshead.
Dan Jones made a return to action in that game after three months out with an ankle injury and the left-back should be in first-team contention sometime in March.
