Facundo Ferreyra scored twice as Shakhtar Donetsk won 3-0 at Schalke to secure their place in the last 16 of the Europa League.

With the tie goalless following the first leg in Lviv, Schalke almost took an early lead when Johannes Geis' free-kick hit the post.

Shakhtar went ahead on 27 minutes when Ferreyra turned the ball inside the far post with a backheel after a quick break.

Schalke substitute Franco Di Santo went close before Shakhtar wrapped things up on 63 minutes as Ferreyra tapped in a cross from Brazil winger Taison, and Viktor Kovalenko's powerful drive gave the Ukrainians a third with 13 minutes left.
