AFC Wimbledon 1 - 0 Carlisle: Paul Robinson header enough for Dons to down Carlisle

AFC Wimbledon moved into the League Two play-off places courtesy of Paul Robinson's second-half goal, which was enough to give the Dons a 1-0 victory over 10-man Carlisle.
Carlisle enjoyed the better of a largely uneventful first half and defensive mix-ups presented them with the best two chances, with Charlie Wyke slicing horribly wide despite a clear sight of goal before Hallam Hope blasted against the woodwork.
The contest sprung into life five minutes into the second period when Tom Elliott latched onto a through ball and was taken out as he rounded Carlisle goalkeeper Mark Gillespie, who referee Darren Deadman duly showed the red card.
And centre-back Robinson made the visitors pay from the resultant free-kick, bundling the ball home with a brave diving header after Dan Hanford parried Lyle Taylor's initial effort.
Carlisle captain Michael Raynes almost equalised seven minutes from time as his half-volley crashed off the inside of the post, but Wimbledon held on to leave the Cumbrians without an away league win in their last five attempts.
