Cowdenbeath 1 - 4 Forfar Athletic: Forfar thrash 10-man Cowdenbeath to end winless league run

Forfar made the most of Kieran Gibbons' first-half dismissal to ease to a first League One win in five months with a 4-1 win at Cowdenbeath.

Forfar striker Steven Craig had the first chance of the game in the sixth minute but his effort was comfortably gathered by goalkeeper Alin Roman.

The home side took the lead from the penalty spot in the 27th minute after Michael Kennedy brought down Dean Brett. Brett converted the resulting spot-kick.

Cowdenbeath's evening took a turn for the worse when Gibbons brought down Thomas O'Brien in the box - his second booking - and Andy Ryan scored from the spot.

And Forfar were in front before the break as Gareth Rodger headed home a cross from Gavin Swankie.

It was 3-1 just before the hour as Craig found the top corner from Martyn Fotheringham's pass and Kerr Hay sealed a fine win in the 85th minute with a low drive from Danny Denholm's cross.
