Preston North End vs Charlton Athletic - Marnick Vermijl back in contention for Preston

Posted Tuesday, February 23, 2016 by PA

Marnick Vermijl returns to Preston's fold for the visit of Charlton.

The on-loan Sheffield Wednesday full-back was ineligible to feature on Saturday against his parent club when Simon Grayson's men made it three wins in a row.

Vermijl has not played since January anyway and may have to make do with a place on the bench again as Calum Woods has been in impressive form of late.

Jermaine Beckford, Liam Grimshaw and Stevie May (all knee) are still sidelined, as is Chris Humphrey (shin), but North End have no new injury problems.

Igor Vetokele and Yaya Sanogo are back in contention for Charlton as the travel to Deepdale.

The weekend came too soon for the pair who had been in training last week and were assessed before the game but Vetokele (hamstring) and Sanogo (back) are expected to be included in the squad.

January signings Yun Suk-Young and Rod Fanni are both still looking for their debuts after being unused substitutes in the 3-0 loss to Fulham at the weekend.

Johnnie Jackson, Patrick Bauer and Alou Diarra are all still sinelined.
