Saidi Ntibazonkiza's solitary strike earned Caen a 1-0 home win over Rennes and halted their three-game losing run.
Burundi international Ntibazonkiza drilled home the game's only goal early in the second half, while Rennes goalkeeper Benoit Costile denied the home side further goals
Caen striker Herve Bazile's low shot was brilliantly saved in the corner by Costile early in the game and Ntibazonkiza headed just over in the 31st minute.
Caen midfielder Ronny Rodelin and Rennes defender Sylvain Armand traded efforts from outside the box soon after the break, but the home side took a 54th-minute lead when Bazile teed-up Ntibazonkiza to fire home.
Ntibazonkiza was denied a late second by Costile, who then kept out Jordan N'Kololo's effort in the closing stages.
