Malaga vs Real Madrid - Zinedine Zidane turns his attention to Malaga after Roma win

Zinedine Zidane insists Real Madrid have recovered from their Champions League trip to Rome and are ready for another tough test at Malaga on Sunday.

Real have one foot in the quarter-finals of Europe's premier competition after beating Roma 2-0 on Wednesday but they must quickly switch their attention back to their battle to overhaul Barcelona at the top of the Primera Division.

Barca moved seven points clear of third-placed Real following a 3-1 win over Sporting Gijon in midweek and have the opportunity to extend their lead further at Las Palmas on Saturday.

Zidane realises the importance of Real's clash with Malaga and is confident his players are fully prepared for the task ahead.

"We have recovered well and are ready," Zidane was quoted as saying on www.marca.com.

"It's a tough and very good opponent. Malaga is a great team so we will have a difficult game just like the Roma match, but it's the same every weekend.

"The important thing is to be prepared from the first minute."

Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos are walking a disciplinary tightrope but Zidane is not concerned about the possibility of them picking up a fifth yellow card of the season and missing next week's crucial derby against Atletico Madrid.

"Cards mean nothing. If they have to play tomorrow, they'll play," said the Frenchman, who confirmed James Rodriguez and Marcelo are both fit to travel.

"It is true that if one of the two gets a yellow card they cannot play against Atletico, but that kind of thing doesn't enter my head.

"I'm just thinking about tomorrow's game, nothing more."

Fernando Tissone and Hachim Mastour are struggling to make the game for Malaga with knee and hamstring problems respectively, but defender Miguel Torres is confident they can get the better of his former club at La Rosaleda.

Torres told the club's official website: "We can show the work we've been doing during the majority of play in matches, prove the team's sacrifice and the desire we have to compete against the big teams.

"We're up against a major rival and I hope it will be a highly-contested game. If we achieve a good result it will be because we'll have played a near-perfect match.

"It's not going to be an easy match, it will be about collective growth, not individual, and I hope we interpret well what is required of this type of game.

"I expect the crowd to get behind the team and I hope it's a great match for everyone.

"What we have been doing this season is putting on a very strong performance at home and making our ground like a fortress. We're going to give Madrid a difficult game and I think we'll have our chances at goal."
