Ayr Utd. 2 - 1 Forfar Athletic: Ryan Stevenson's brace fires Ayr to victory over Forfar

Ryan Stevenson scored twice to give Ayr a 2-1 win over Forfar which strengthens their grip on third place in Ladbrokes League One.

Stevenson put the home side in front six minutes before the break with a firm header from Michael Wardrobe's cross.

But second-bottom Forfar pulled themselves level against the run of play midway through the second half when Andy Ryan finished off a swift counter-attack.

Ayr were not to be denied, though, as Stevenson's overhead kick 15 minutes from time earned the Honest Men just their second win in six league games.
