Hertha BSC Berlin 1 - 1 Wolfsburg: Salomon Kalou rescues a point as Hertha Berlin hold Wolfsburg

Salomon Kalou fired an equaliser as Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg shared a 1-1 draw at the Olympiastadion on Saturday.
Marcel Schafer gave the visitors the lead early in the second half, but Kalou levelled for Hertha to earn them an ultimately deserved point.
The hosts had the better of a combative first half, although Julian Draxler, who netted twice in Wolfsburg's 3-2 win at Gent in midweek, nearly opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time. He was not quick enough to react as the ball fell at his feet in front of goal.
Wolfsburg improved in the second half, but it was a defensive mistake which enabled them to go ahead in the 53rd minute.
John Anthony Brooks completely missed the ball as he roamed out of his defensive comfort zone and that allowed Vieirinha plenty of time and room down the right to pick out Schafer, whose shot on the volley nestled in the opposite corner of Thomas Kraft's goal.
Kalou brought Hertha back on terms on the hour mark, sending an angled shot through the legs of Naldo on the goal line, just seconds after Wolfsburg's Brazilian defender had cleared a Vedad Ibisevic effort off the line.
Luiz Gustavo should have given Wolfsburg the lead when he turned Dante's header onto the inside of the post from close range.
Wolfsburg increased the pressure and Hertha goalkeeper Rune Jarstein made two crucial saves to deny Schafer and then Vieirinha late on and preserve a point for his team.
