Barnsley vs Doncaster Rovers - Kevin Long missing for Barnsley against Doncaster

Posted Thursday, February 18, 2016 by PA

Barnsley will be without on-loan defender Kevin Long for their home game against derby rivals Doncaster.

Long, who has played a key role in Barnsley's climb up the table, has returned to parent club Burnley so Marc Roberts and Lewin Nyatanga will be vying to replace him at the heart of the defence.

Caretaker bosses Paul Heckingbottom and Tommy Wright have no new injury or suspension worries as the Reds look to bounce back from last week's defeat at Gillingham.

Midfielder Jak McCourt, on loan from Leicester, is back in contention following a groin injury and could make his first appearance for the club.

Boss Darren Ferguson returns to the touchline for Doncaster after he served a one-game ban when Sheffield United visited the Keepmoat Stadium last weekend.

Ferguson has confirmed Everton loanee Conor Grant (rib) and fellow midfielder James Coppinger are "in the mix" to return.

Dany N'Guessan remains sidelined with a toe problem while another striker, Curtis Main, joined Oldham this week in a bid to boost his match fitness.

Defender Andy Butler returned from a groin problem last weekend and showed no ill-effects so he should continue for a Doncaster side who are without a win in six matches in all competitions.
