Walsall vs Wigan Athletic - James O'Connor could make his Walsall return against Wigan

James O'Connor could return for Walsall's crucial game with promotion rivals Wigan at the Banks's Stadium.

The defender missed last week's 1-1 draw at Crewe with a dead leg with Matt Preston deputising at the back.

Goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray is still a doubt after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury.

Isaiah Osbourne is working in the gym to recover from a knee injury which has kept him sidelined since joining in the summer and has prevented the midfielder making his debut.

Sanmi Odelusi's Wigan season is over after the forward underwent further surgery on a foot ligament injury.

The 22-year-old has made just five appearances for Latics this season after joining from Bolton last summer.

Michael Jacobs is also out and not expected to return any time soon after suffering a calf injury at Crewe last month.

Kevin McNaughton could be available for the first time since August after recovering from a knee injury while Reece James is available after playing in a development game against Burnley on Tuesday.
