Berahino escapes FA action
West Brom striker Saido Berahino will not be punished by the Football Association for his alleged stamp on Everton midfielder James McCarthy on Saturday.

The moment of contention occurred in the first half of the Premier League clash at Goodison Park, where the Baggies were leading through Salomon Rondon's 14th-minute goal.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez felt that Berahino should have seen red for the incident, which was not seen by the referee at the time.

"The ball was stopped and Berahino just stamps on James McCarthy," Martinez said after the match.

"I don't know what happened. I thought the referee was in a good position and should have seen that. It's one of those naive reactions and it should have been a red card."

But the 22-year-old will not face action from the FA after a three-man panel could not agree that he should be charged with violent conduct.
