Colchester United vs Chesterfield - Alex Gilbey still suspended for Colchester's clash with Chesterfield

Alex Gilbey will miss Colchester's League One clash with Chesterfield on Tuesday, with the midfielder still serving a suspension.

West Ham loanee Elliot Lee should spearhead the attack, after making the first appearance of his second loan stint at Colchester in Saturday's 4-1 home loss at the hands of Swindon.

Now the 21-year-old, son of former Newcastle and England midfielder Rob Lee, is intent on arresting his loan club's frustrating form.

Midfielder Tom Lapslie can expect to be involved too as he continues his recovery from groin trouble, after taking a seat on the bench for the Swindon loss.

Chesterfield's Liam O'Neil will miss the trip after spending the night in hospital following Friday's defeat at Burton.

The midfielder had X-Rays and CT scans which confirmed there was no neck injury after O'Neil was struck in the face by the ball and had to be carried off during the 1-0 loss.

O'Neil, though, was suffering from concussion and will sit out but Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Lee Novak (illness) could return.

Mani Dieseruvwe, Charlie Raglan (hernia), Ian Evatt (Achilles) and Angel Martinez (knee) remain out injured.
