Brechin City 2 - 2 Cowdenbeath: Shepherd's delight denies Cowdenbeath

Scott Shepherd's goal deep into stoppage time earned Brechin a point from a 2-2 draw with relegation rivals Cowdenbeath in Ladbrokes League One.

Chris Kane put Cowdenbeath in front inside six minutes, heading in his first goal for the club from Jack Beaumont's free-kick.

Brechin had already gone close, Lewis Spence's shot fumbled by goalkeeper Grant Adam and Robert Thomson unable to convert the follow-up.

Declan McDaid drew a sharp save from Graeme Smith at the other end but Brechin equalised when David Weatherston found Jonathan Tiffoney for a close-range finish. Smith denied Greig Spence to keep it level at the interval.

Andrew Jackson hit a post and Shepherd's follow-up was saved by Adam, while Smith blocked a poor Spence effort and also saved from Pat Scullion.

Cowdenbeath went ahead when Smith parried Ross Caldwell's effort and Dean Brett tucked the ball away.

But there was still time for late drama as Jackson set up Shepherd to equalise from the edge of the box for the bottom-of-the-table hosts.
