Dagenham and Redbridge 0 - 2 Barnet: Dagenham bottom after Barnet earn easy win

Posted Sunday, February 14, 2016 by PA

Dagenham slumped to the bottom of Sky Bet League Two after a 2-0 loss at home to London rivals Barnet.

Daggers could have taken the lead in the 13th minute when Joss Labadie fired just wide from six yards after good work from Oliver Hawkins to win the ball.

Barnet had a good chance themselves soon after but Mark Cousins got down well to deny Shaun Batt after a quick counter attack.

And it was the visitors who would take the lead in the 24th minute when Luke Gambin scored from close range after weaving his way through the home defence.

Barnet made it two in the 70th minute when Michael Nelson tucked home Chris Hackett's cross unmarked at the far post.

It perhaps should have been three in the 75th minute when John Akinde capitalised on an error by Dom Hyam, but Cousins rushed out well to save.

Daggers are now four points from safety with their situation looking bleaker by the week.
