Eintracht Frankfurt 2 - 4 VfB Stuttgart: Stuttgart continue winning run with win at Eintracht Frankfurt
Posted Sunday, February 07, 2016 by PA
Stuttgart made it four wins in a row on Saturday, with the 4-2 triumph at Eintracht Frankfurt moving them to their highest position of the season.
Stuttgart's excellent recent form continued with captain Christian Gentner putting them in front and Daniel Didavi doubling their lead, after Alexander Meier had an effort ruled out for offside.
Meier brought Frankfurt back into the game with a poacher's finish from close range after Przemyslaw Tyton parried Stefan Aigner's effort, but Georg Niedermeier again silenced the home fans with a header from Gentner's cross.
Didavi's sending off moments later gave the hosts hope, but they were dashed when Carlos Zambrano gave away a penalty and earned a red card himself, with Filip Kostic converting Stuttgart's fourth.
Szabolcs Huszti grabbed a late consolation for the Eagles, who were overtaken in the standings by their guests.
