Cambridge United vs Dagenham and Redbridge - Luke Berry to skipper Cambridge
Posted Friday, February 05, 2016 by PA
Luke Berry will lead out Cambridge for the first time as club captain against Dagenham after being handed the armband on a permanent basis.
Berry, 23, skippered the U's in their victory over Leyton Orient last Saturday after Mark Roberts was left on the bench.
And Cambridge manager Shaun Derry announced on Thursday that Berry will continue to lead his side for the remainder of the season starting with Saturday's clash.
Meanwhile, Shane O'Neill, who has signed on loan from Apollon Limassol until the end of the season, could make his debut.
Centre-back Dominic Hyam will be looking to make his Dagenham debut after signing on loan from Reading this week.
The 20-year-old has not made a senior appearance for the Royals but is hoping for some first-team action at the Sky Bet League Two side.
Midfielder Kane Ferdinand has left the Daggers after his contract expired.
Centre-back Ian Gayle and striker Ade Yusuff are also unavailable after joining Welling on loan earlier in the week but manager John Still has no fresh injury worries for the game.
