Empoli 1 - 1 Udinese: Late Manuel Pucciarelli goal earns Empoli a draw at home to Udinese

Manuel Pucciarelli scored a late leveller to earn Empoli a point in a 1-1 draw with Udinese.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when Duvan Zapata got on the end of Ryder Matos' cross to fire past Empoli shot-stopper Lukasz Skorupski from the middle of the box.

Empoli had a good opportunity to pull themselves level when they were awarded a penalty in the 65th minute after Ali Adnan fouled Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

But Riccardo Saponara was unable to convert from 12 yards, with visiting goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis producing a good save to deny him.

Empoli continued to push and they finally got an equaliser in the 90th minute when Pucciarelli found the back of the net after good link-up play with veteran forward Massimo Maccarone.
