Lille OSC 1 - 0 Caen: Adama Soumaoro strikes as Lille edge out Caen for first win of 2016

Adama Soumaoro's solitary second-half strike was enough for Lille to secure their first three points this year with a slender 1-0 win against Caen, who finished the night with 10 men.

Despite forcing two good saves from Remy Vercoutre earlier in the encounter from Renato Civelli and Sebastian Corchia respectively, Lille had to wait until the hour mark to make a breakthrough.

Eric Bautheac's corner found Soumaoro at the near post and his header left Vercoutre a beaten man for the first time in the contest.

Any hopes of a Caen comeback diminished late on when Jordan N'Kololo was dismissed for a second yellow on 85 minutes following a clumsy challenge on Rio Mavuba.
