Stenhousemuir remain sixth in the Ladbrokes League One table after a 0-0 draw at home to bottom side Brechin.

Mark Gilhaney shot narrowly off target for the hosts early on but Brechin also had their moments with Robert Thomson testing Graham Bowman in the Stenhousemuir goal.

Andy Jackson then fired wide for Brechin while Lukas Culjak and Lewis Spence also wasted chances for the visitors.

However, Brechin were thankful to keeper Graeme Smith who saved well from Alan Cook to keep the scores level at half-time.

Smith was also called into action five minutes after the break and denied Colin McMenamin's right-footed effort.

Stenhousemuir winger Gilhaney and Brechin forward David Weatherston exchanged attempts on the hour mark as both sides pushed for a winner.

Carlos Mazana-Martinez, though, came closest to breaking the deadlock with 12 minutes remaining but the Stenhousemuir midfielder saw his effort hit the bar.
