Klopp: Guardiola will want to win everything in England with Man City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Pep Guardiola will be aiming to dominate English football when he joins Manchester City at the start of next season.

The Citizens today announced that the current Bayern Munich manager has agreed to become their new manager when his contract with the Bavarian giants comes to an end in June with Manuel Pellegrini leaving as a result.

Guardiola has won numerous trophies during his managerial career initially with Barcelona and then at Bayern and Klopp, who faced him while in charge of Borussia Dortmund, thinks he is coming to England to win even more silverware.

Speaking ahead of his side’s clash against Leicester, he said (via Goal): "He is one of the best managers in the world, no doubt about this. He had two big, big clubs where he has worked at and now he will do his job at Manchester City.

"Pep won everything in Spain, nearly everything in Germany, so I think he wants to win everything in England. That is clear.”

Speculation regarding Guardiola making the move to Manchester City has raged for some months and in their statement today City’s board stated that they have made the announcement now to avoid it becoming a distraction.

Before he links up with the club, though, Guardiola will look to end his three-year spell with Bayern on a high as they are leading the way in the Bundesliga and are tipped as one of the favourites to land the Champions League title.

City are also competing on multiple fronts under Pellegrini as they are second in the Premier League, in the final of the Capital One Cup and are still in both the Champions League and FA Cup.

Klopp has a headstart on his old foe when it comes to managing in England having joined Liverpool in October and he is still getting to grips with the division as Liverpool have scored the same number of goals as they have conceded (22) since he joined.
