Man United considering desperate late move for Man City reject

Manchester United are considering a dramatic late loan move for one-time Manchester City youngster Omar Elabdellaoui to ease Louis van Gaal's right-back concerns, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

With Matteo Darmian out of action on top of a worrying list of other injuries, the Red Devils are short of options on the right side of their defensive line.

A shock loan move for Arsenal's Mathieu Debuchy was mooted earlier, but with the Gunners reluctant to business with their bitter rivals, reports claim that Elabdellaoui is a late alternative option.

Olympiakos are understood to have offered the 24-year-old to the Manchester giants for the rest of the season with a £2.5m down payment and a clause in place to make the agreement permanent for a further £7.5m.

Elabdellaoui was released by Man City as a youngster, but has found his feet in Greece after a series of loan moves, and is a 19-time Norway international.
