Lewandowski snubs Premier League trio in order to sign with a Spanish giant

The Polish striker is willing to wait one year in order to sign with Real Madrid if Los Blancos can't get their FIFA transfer ban overturned.

After more than two years, Robert Lewandowski seems to have made up his mind about where he wants to play. Reports coming in from numerous sources suggest the Polish striker has snubbed transfer offers from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United in order to join Real Madrid next summer.

Sources indicate that the Polish international will only leave Bayern Munich to join the Spanish giants, with the possibility of joining them next summer. Lewandowski has scored 17 goals in 17 games for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, ranking second in that department behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 18 strikes.

The player's contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2019, and Die Roten have explained that any club that wants to sign "Lewie" will have to pay up to 70 million euros plus the player's salary.

While this deal could happen next summer, Real Madrid needs to solve the FIFA transfer ban as soon as possible. If Los Blancos are capable of overturning that ban, Lewandowski would be ready to join them for the start of the 2016-2017 season. But if their appeal gets rejected, the Polish striker will not have any problem to wait until the transfer ban's lifted, according to sources close to the player.

Lewandowski has been Real Madrid's transfer target for almost three years, after Los Blancos were thrashed by the Polish ace in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Lewandowski scored four goals against the Spanish giants in the first leg of that series, and has become an obsession for Florentino Perez since then.
