Malaga have replaced the departed Nordin Amrabat with the signing of Chelsea winger Christian Atsu on loan.
Moroccan international Amrabat moved to the Premier League, joining Watford, in a £6million deal.
Malaga, who sit 12th in La Liga, have moved swiftly to fill the 28-year-old's boots with Atsu, beating off competition from Rayo Vallecano and Levante.
The Ghana international joined Chelsea in 2013 but has failed to make a first-team appearance at Stamford Bridge, spending time on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and Everton.
Atsu spent the first half of this campaign on loan at Bournemouth, but an injury restricted the 24-year-old to just two appearances in the League Cup.
Further departures are expected from the Blues, with Brazil midfielder Ramires understood to be on the verge of joining Chinese club Jiangsu Suning in a £25million move, while striker Loic Remy is the subject of interest from a host of Premier League sides.
