REJECT: Liverpool have had a second offer for Alex Teixeira turned down
The Daily Mail say that Shakhtar Donetsk have turned down an improved bid worth £28m.
Jurgen Klopp's latest offer is an increase of £3.5m on the Kop's £24.5m opening effort.
While the player has made noises about leaving Shakhtar this month, Liverpool are still some way off the Ukrainian club's valuation of around £39m.
Chelsea are also keen on the Brazilian forward who has a phenomenal goal-scoring record of late.
He is in great form and has scored 22 times in just 15 domestic games this season.
Klopp was tight-lipped about a move for the forward earlier today.
He said: "There's absolutely nothing to say. Maybe it surprises you."
"I have nothing to say to things like this."
Teixeira has spoken on his wish to leave Ukraine this month.
Over the weekend he told Brazilian paper Globo Esporte: "I would like to move in this transfer window and have told them [Shakhtar] that."
"They have received a very good offer and they are working on a solution. But if I don't go now then I will leave in the summer."
