Guillermo Barros Schelotto celebrated his first win as Palermo boss as his Sicilians thrashed Udinese 4-1 at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Davide Ballardini's replacement watched Robin Quaison open the scoring at the end of a 35th-minute counter-attack and Oscar Hiljemark doubled Palermo's lead shortly before the hour mark.
Achraf Lazaar made it 3-0 on 77 minutes but Cyril Thereau dragged Udinese back into the game with a goal - his seventh of the season - two minutes later.
When Macedonian substitute Aleksandar Trajkovski made the points safe three minutes from time, Palermo pulled six points clear of the drop zone.
