MANCHESTER UNITED chief executive Ed Woodward was told in September that Pep Guardiola had agreed a deal to join City.

The Sunday People claim that a gentleman's agreement between Guardiola and City was struck four months ago.
And they report that Woodward was well aware of it and that's the reason they won't chase the Bayern Munich boss.
Added to that, Starsport understand Guardiola would have serious reservations about making a move to Old Trafford.
He doubts whether United can match his ambitions in the transfer market.
Red Devils chiefs think that Guardiola’s close ties to former Barcelona colleague Txiki Begiristain, City’s director of football, was the deciding factor.
It was claimed his week that United chiefs held talks with Guardiola in Paris.
But those have been denied by the club as they don't want to be seen to miss out on a big name to their arch rivals.
Guardiola is 2/7 with the bookies to be named the next City boss.
