"We're very glad that, after the sale of Assani Lukimya, we can quickly present a successor," Bremen sporting director Thomas Eichin told the club's official website.

Djilibodji moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer for a fee of £2.7m from Nantes, but the 27-year-old has been limited to one appearance for the struggling Blues and will be looking for first-team football in Germany.

Bremen currently sit in the relegation zone as the Bundesliga resumes action this weekend.
