Cambridge United 1 - 1 Hartlepool United FC: Hartlepool denied victory by late Cambridge leveller

Ben Williamson salvaged a point for Cambridge who drew 1-1 with Hartlepool in League Two.

Williamson controlled a long ball into the box and fired home in the last minute, ending a run of five and a half hours since the U's last scored.

Hartlepool had taken a deserved lead 19 minutes from time when Jake Gray latched on to Michael Woods' pass and fired home, despite Will Norris getting a touch.

Goalkeeper Norris had kept Cambridge in the game to that point with a succession of saves.

Ellis Harrison hit the post early on and had a shot charged down by Leon Legge. Norris denied Harrison after 11 minutes and then produced an excellent save to deal with Lewis Hawkins' effort on the rebound. He was soon in action again, tipping over Jordan Richards' free-kick.

After the break Norris rushed out to deny Gray when he was played through on goal by Woods, and then parried Gray's shot from outside the area.

Mark Roberts headed wide for Cambridge and substitute Barry Corr's header was saved before Williamson's late leveller.
