Northampton Town vs Morecambe - Northampton to check on Alfie Potter ahead of clash with Morecambe

Northampton winger Alfie Potter may be looking at a return to first-team action against Morecambe after more than three weeks out with a rib injury.

Potter last played on December 28, but was an unused substitute in Northampton's FA Cup loss to MK Dons on Tuesday.

James Collins and Lee Martin will return, after being cup-tied last time out, though the midfield duo of Lawson D'Ath (groin) and Paul Corry (knee) will continue to be out.

Meanwhile, there could be a transfer move on the cards with Cobblers boss Chris Wilder saying he continues to maintain an interest in Southend defender Luke Prosser.

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley has concerns over a trio of players as the Shrimps look to maintain their promising recent form.

Aaron Wildig limped off with a hamstring injury midway through last week's win over Yeovil but Bentley hopes he will be available to keep his place.

Tom Barkhuizen (ribs) and Shaun Beeley (ribs) are the other doubts, while Aaron McGowan remains sidelined with a hamstring strain.

Luke Conlan could make his Morecambe debut after joining on loan from Burnley last week and sitting on the bench for the Yeovil game.
