Brighton & Hove Albion vs Huddersfield Town - Greer and Baldock set for Brighton returns

Posted Friday, January 22, 2016 by PA

Gordon Greer and Sam Baldock could return to the Brighton squad for the visit of Huddersfield.

Seagulls skipper Greer sat out last weekend's 1-0 win at Blackburn with a hamstring problem and striker Baldock was absent after feeling tightness in his calf in training.

Defenders Uwe Hunemeier (groin), Gaetan Bong (thigh) and Liam Rosenior (knee) are still out along with midfielder Solly March (knee).

Winger Kazenga LuaLua is pushing for a start having made two substitute appearances following four months out with a groin injury.

Huddersfield will include new signing Karim Matmour in their squad. The Algeria international, a free agent following his departure from Al-Arabi in Kuwait, has agreed a deal until the end of the season.

On-loan Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer will return to contention after being refused permission to play in the midweek FA Cup replay defeat at Reading.

Jonathan Hogg sits out a one-game ban following his dismissal on Tuesday night, but fellow midfielder Dean Whitehead could return to the starting line-up. He stepped off the bench at Reading after a nine-game absence due to a knee injury.

Winger Sean Scannell (knee) is still out - he may require surgery - and forward Harry Bunn (ankle) will be monitored.
