Arsenal have been dealt a hammer blow in their pursuit of Inaki Williams.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fine season at Athletic Bilbao, netting six times in 14 La Liga appearances.

The Gunners and Liverpool were both tracking Williams, after reports emerged he had a £15.2million release clause in his contract.

But Williams has signed a new long-term deal with Bilbao, keeping him at the club until 2021.

And his buy-out clause has rocketed to £38.1m too.

Schalke star Leroy Sane has been urged to ignore the overtures of the Premier League’s top clubs.

Arsenal, Liverpool and United have been tracking the 20-year-old, who is valued at £40m.

But Schalke boss Andre Breitenreiter has urged Sane to think long and hard over his future.

He said: “When I was a player I also dreamed of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid and logically you have to ask yourself how many times you’ll have that opportunity.

''Leroy Sane should decide if it’s right for him and if he’s interested in signing for Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to pay £25m for Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko.

The Gunners have already clinched a £5m deal for Mohamed Elneny.

Yarmolenko, who has cropped up in previous windows, has also been linked to Everton.

But Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb claim Yarmolenko could sign for the Gunners before deadline day on  February 1.
