Colchester United vs Fleetwood Town - Darren Ambrose could start

Kevin Keen will be hopeful of having Darren Ambrose available from the start for Colchester's Sky Bet League One clash with Fleetwood.

The midfielder came on as a late substitute in Saturday's defeat to Sheffield United after being struck down with illness but he could return to the side for a battle between the two strugglers.

Tom Lapslie missed the weekend loss completely due to a muscle strain and is in a battle to be in contention this time around.

Defender George Elokobi is still nursing a hamstring injury and midfielder Sammie Szmodics misses out too.

Striker Jamille Matt is in contention for inclusion in Fleetwood's squad after returning from his loan spell at Stevenage.

But a haul of one goal from eight appearances means he will not be displacing the front trio of Ash Hunter, Bobby Grant and Jamie Proctor, who have started the last two matches.

Defender Nathan Pond and Amari'i Bell are rated as doubtful for the trip but Joe Davis is set to keep his place at the back after making his loan from Leicester permanent this week.

Midfielder David Ball's hamstring injury keeps him out against his former side.
