Chelsea prepare shock swoop for Crystal Palace ace as John Terry's replacement

The Crystal Palace defender, who put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the south London outfit, was unable to prevent his side slumping to a 4-0 defeat away to Manchester City on Saturday.

Chelsea are thought to be keen on Dann, whom they have watched in almost every game so far this season.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea want to strike a deal for Dann.

The report suggests Dann could double his current £60,000-a-week wage packet should he make the switch.

Terry, who was rewarded with a new 12-month contract last summer, insists he wants to finish his career at Stamford Bridge.

He said: "I'm in the right state of mind. I'm still hungry. I want to win and finish my career here."

"But I'm not thinking of that. Last year, it was a couple of months from now before things got sorted."

"For me the most important thing is to get us out of this and up the league table."

"Hopefully that comes and I will just have to keep plugging away."
