According to reports, Barcelona are plotting a big-money transfer swoop to sign Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Express note that the Spanish giants are intensifying their chase for the Welsh star after having made him one of their key targets ahead of the summer transfer market.
According to the tabloid, Barca sent scouts to watch the player during the Gummers’ thrilling 3-3 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening and, impressed with what they saw, are keen to bring the versatile player to the Nou Camp.
Intriguingly, the tabloid note that Arsenal wouldn’t stand in the way of allowing Ramsey to join Barcelona’s star-studded squad, although a big-money offer from Barcelona—the Express note that the club are committed to parting with a fee in the £50 million-£60 million mark—would surely sweeten the deal.
However, the Catalan giants will be aware that they may need to manage Ramsey’s fitness carefully, with the former Cardiff City man having had his fair share of injury troubles in the past.
This season, there have been some signs that the worst is behind the player, who’s started 18 games in the Premier League so far this term—clocking up 1589 minutes so far this campaign. Unless more disaster strikes, Ramsey should comfortably beat his starting tallies for the last three seasons; 23, 20 and 21 respectively.
