Falkirk 1 - 1 Hibernian FC: Jason Cummings strikes to secure point for Hibernian at Falkirk

Posted Monday, January 18, 2016 by PA

Hibernian striker Jason Cummings denied Falkirk a fifth successive victory in a 1-1 draw which left leaders Rangers five points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship table.

The home side, who remain in second place ahead of the visitors on goal difference, had taken a 49th-minute lead at Falkirk Stadium when midfielder Blair Alston evaded defender Liam Fontaine's challenge before firing under keeper Mark Oxley.

However, Hibs' response was concerted and they got themselves back on level terms with 17 minutes remaining when Bairns keeper Danny Rogers saved Darren McGregor's shot, only to see Cummings dispatch the rebound.

It might have been worse for Falkirk had Rogers not made a fine save to keep out Cummings' half-volleyed attempt with four minutes remaining, ensuring that the game ended 1-1 in front of a crowd of 7,081.
