Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson would take a hands-on role at the club if Louis van Gaal is sacked, according to The Sunday People.
A heavy defeat against Liverpool on Sunday could lead to Van Gaal being relieved of his duties, and the hierarchy at Old Trafford would hand the reins to assistant manager Ryan Giggs.
But 74-year-old Ferguson, who retired in 2013, would take on an advisorary role to help his former player in his first steps in management, though he is unwilling to return to the dugout.
