GOAL ACE: Jamie Vardy
Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp could Kop the striker in the summer for £25m.
Vardy, 29, is seen as a modern-day Ian Rush, the Liverpool legend who is now an Anfield ambassador.
That is because of his pace, work rate and goalscoring instinct that saw Vardy set a new Premier League record this season when he scored in 11 matches in a row.
A source close to the situation told the Daily Star Sunday: “Vardy is the right fit for Liverpool.
"He would suit their high-intensity game under Klopp, he runs the channels and he’s now demonstrated his goalscoring ability at the highest level.
"As a result of his success this season, all the big clubs are looking at him.
"But Liverpool look to be the favourites – if he decides to leave Leicester.”
The Foxes will fight to keep Vardy and will offer him a new contract which will double his current £45,000-a-week deal.
And he could yet opt to remain at the King Power Stadium.
After all, they currently have a better chance of playing in the Champions League next season than Liverpool.
But it is clear Vardy will have a big decision to make on his future in the coming months.
