Bastia 1 - 0 Montpellier: Montpellier troubles continue with Bastia defeat

Montpellier were left perilously close to the bottom three after suffering a 1-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Bastia.

The hosts had to wait until early in the second half to make the breakthrough when Julien Palmieri and Florian Marange combined to tee up Floyd Ayite for the only goal.

Bastia's chances of holding on to all three points took a hit on 64 minutes when Seko Fofana shown a straight red card following a violent clash with Jonas Martin.

However, parity was restored soon after when Daniel Congre was also given his marching orders to ruin any chance of a Montpellier fight-back.
