Posted Sunday, January 17, 2016 by PA
Northampton pressed home their promotion credentials to come from behind and beat Dagenham 2-1.
Despite the difference in league standings, Daggers controlled the early exchanges with Christian Doidge and Joss Labadie testing Cobblers keeper Adam Smith.
The hosts thought they had taken the lead in the 35th minute but Ashley Chambers' header was ruled out for offside.
Chambers again went close in the 57th minute after a great through ball from Ollie Muldoon but his effort under pressure was saved by Smith.
Finally the hosts took the lead in the 62nd minute when Doidge turned a ball from Josh Passley into the net.
Northampton hit back in the 69th minute when John-Joe O'Toole tucked away a Nicky Adams corner.
The Cobblers then took the lead in the 79th minute through an unbelievable volley from Ricky Holmes that flew into the net.
Northampton were able to hold on and secure a vital win in their quest to win promotion.
