Blackpool 5 - 0 Scunthorpe United: Blackpool rout Scunthorpe

Blackpool moved out of the League One relegation zone with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Scunthorpe United.

Defender Tom Aldred gave the Seasiders the perfect start with a goal in the second minute and Brad Potts' double meant the contest was effectively over by half-time at Bloomfield Road.

And Blackpool's first victory in four matches was rounded off in the second half courtesy of goals from David Norris and Danny Philliskirk as the hosts climbed up to 19th in the table.

Neil McDonald's side went into the contest as the lowest scorers in the division but they took the lead early on when Aldred lost his marker to head in Jim McAlister's free-kick.

Potts then slotted past Luke Daniels from inside the area after 12 minutes before making it 3-0 inside half an hour when he was played through by Norris.

The lead was extended 10 minutes into the second period when a comedy of errors resulted in a goalmouth scramble and Norris applied the finish.

And the rout was completed on 82 minutes when Potts teed up Philliskirk for his first Blackpool goal.
