New signing Nathan Thomas is in contention to make his debut for Hartlepool against Wycombe on Saturday.

The winger joined Pools from Mansfield on Tuesday and will hope to make an immediate impression.

Matthew Bates missed last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Derby with a toe injury and is likely to remain sidelined while fellow defender Carl Magnay (groin) is also a doubt.

Michael Duckworth (stomach), Billy Paynter (Achilles) and Harry Worley (ankle) will all definitely miss the game against the Chairboys.

Matt Ingram is set to return from suspension for Wycombe.

The home-grown goalkeeper missed Wanderers' 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in the FA Cup last weekend following his red card against Morecambe.

Midfielder Marcus Bean and captain Paul Hayes are both closing in on returns from ankle problems and could feature.

Wycombe have won their last eight matches against Hartlepool and will hope to make it nine ahead of Tuesday's lucrative replay against Villa.
