Bury vs Walsall - Bury short of defensive options

Posted Friday, January 15, 2016 by PA

Bury are short of defensive options for their Sky Bet League One clash with Walsall.

Centre-back Peter Clarke remains on the sidelines with a knee problem and right-back Joe Riley suffered a knock in last week's FA Cup clash against Bradford.

Winger Craig Jones is also doubtful after being knocked unconscious in that game and carried off on a stretcher.

On-loan Ian Lawlor is set to continue in goal with Rob Lainton and Jack Ruddy injured and Daniel Bachmann now back with parent club Stoke.

Walsall could be unchanged following their 1-1 draw at Coventry on Tuesday.

Striker Tom Bradshaw scored his first goal - and 13th of the season - since returning from an ankle injury he suffered last month.

The Saddlers do not have any fresh injury concerns while Jordan Cook and Jason Demetriou are pushing for recalls.

Isaiah Osbourne is battling to return to full fitness after suffering a knee injury in the summer which has stopped him making his Saddlers debut.
