Sheffield Wednesday pair Fernando Forestieri and Gary Hooper both hope to recover from injury niggles in time for the visit of derby rivals Leeds.
Strikers Forestieri and on-loan Hooper, set to make his last appearance before returning to parent club Norwich, have muscle strains and will be assessed.
Head coach Carlos Carvalhal has no other new injury or suspension worries as Wednesday chase a fourth straight win in all competitions and their sixth in seven matches.
Midfielder Sam Hutchinson (back) could return to contention after missing the last two games, but goalkeeper Keiren Westwood, plus defenders Tom Lees (hamstring) and Michael Turner (knee) remain sidelined.
Leeds striker Chris Wood is battling to overcome a hamstring problem in time to feature.
Wood has missed the last three games and remains doubtful as Leeds bid to bounce back from Tuesday night's defeat at Ipswich.
Head coach Steve Evans, who confirmed midfielder Tom Adeyemi had been left out of the squad in midweek due to a loss of form, has no new injury concerns.
Winger Mustapha Carayol has started both games since arriving on loan from Middlesbrough, but Stuart Dallas is pushing for a recall, while midfielder Luke Murphy and defender Sol Bamba are also in contention to return.
