According to a report in the Daily Mail, Leicester City have begun talks with FC Copenhagen over a £5 million deal for sought-after defender Daniel Amartey.
The British editorial claim that the talented defender was the subject of a failed bid from the Foxes in the summer, but now the two sides have re-entered talks over a potential January switch.
''Leicester City are discussing a £5million move for Copenhagen defender Daniel Amartey,” the report reads.
Amartey joined the Danish side in the summer of 2014 and has since gone on to feature 44 times for the popular club, winning the Danish Cup last season.
The 21-year-old is a Ghana international and represented his country at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, finishing as a runner-up as Ghana were defeated by Ivory Coast in the final.
Capable of playing in defender or as a holding midfielder, Amartey has long caught the attentions of Leicester as the East Midlands side look to bolster their ranks.
Claudio Ranieri’s men are very much in the hunt for a top four place, currently occupying second in the Premier League table following a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
