Stade Rennais FC 2 - 2 Lorient: Lorient blow two-goal lead to draw at Rennes
Posted Sunday, January 10, 2016 by PA
Lorient squandered a two-goal lead as they were held to a draw 2-2 at Rennes in Ligue 1.
Rennes found themselves two goals behind inside 22 minutes when Fallou Diagne netted past his own goalkeeper before Abdul Waris pounced for a second after Benoit Costil parried Cheikh M'Bengue's effort.
But Philippe Montanier's side hit back in what was proving to be an entertaining first-half as Ousmane Dembele reduced the deficit in the 35th minute with a neat finish before Jeremie Boga struck from outside the area six minutes later to make it 2-2.
Waris and Steven Moreira both hit the woodwork in the second period as both sides searched for a winner.
